“On Friday February 10, the federal Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans unanimously denied a request by opponents of the Texas Sonogram Law to reconsider the decision of a three-judge panel on that court several weeks ago to completely uphold the law’s constitutionality.”
Comment: Now, finally the law will go into effect and women will have a chance to know the truth. Pray for truth!

This is an older article to remind us what has been known for awhile but is frequently denied: There is a medically significant increased risk of breast cancer caused by abortion. My guess is many folks just don’t want to believe it, thus causing more women to suffer late effects of their uninformed choice.

Setting faith aside can make doctors less effective, researchers find

Both Curlin and Dr. Daniel Sulmasy, an internist who also serves on the Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues, said they believe that as the gap between health care and religion has widened, the quality of care for patients has diminished.
Commentary: Since the 1970′s studies have shown a positive correlation between health and faith. It is more recent that some have protested what some consider to be a conflict between religion and science. However, most patients find hope in medicine practiced with compassion and sensitivity to their spiritual awareness. L.F.

AAFP endorces “choosing wisely” to decrease unnecessary testing

“AAFP has joined eight other medical specialty organizations to launch the Choosing Wisely campaign, an initiative of the ABIM Foundation.” Only if this encorages doctors to individualize care rather than some check list will this save money and encorage patient safety. L.F.
